Steven Blake - Operations Director

Steven has over 20 years of experience working in the oil and gas industry. A focused and highly accomplished operations professional, Steven makes sure the organisation is running a smooth efficient service that meets the expectations and needs of our clients. He has a keen eye for detail and often assists departments right across the business, as well as being a vital member of the senior management team. Steven draws on experiences gained here at Probe and Weatherford Completion Systems, where he held various operational roles and responsibilities.

Shona Ives - Financial Controller

An ACCA Qualified Accountant, Shona joined Probe in 2016 with more than 15 years of financial and business experience. Shona qualified in practice, before moving into industry where she spent 11 years with Kongsberg. She brings valuable insight into audit and accounts preparation within a group environment, as well as being a vital member of the senior management team.

Clinton Vince - QHSE Manager

Clinton has been with the company for over 25 years and is instrumental in ensuring Probe sustains our ISO 9001, 14001, 18001 and API certifications. Quality, health, safety, and environment is the heart of our business and Clinton drives and obtains this positive culture across the organisation through regular engagement and interaction with all members of the team.

Andy Nichols - Operations Manager

Andy has worked within the oil and gas and renewable energy industries for over a decade. During this time he has gained valuable knowledge by working in various quality roles. Now a dedicated member of the Probe QC team, Andy has an in-depth understanding of our client certification requirements. He ensures that Probe maintain a high level of service quality to all clients, old and new.

Dean Hitcham - Sales Manager

Dean also has vast oilfield experience with over 30 years in the industry. He provides the expertise and skills gained working on a wide variety of oilfield equipment, including pressure retainment and wellheads. Dean has a deep understanding of the needs of our clients and is focused on ensuring our proposals will really deliver the results they need.

Marc Saiche - Sales Engineer

Marc has been with Probe for over four years and during this time he has gained great experience, working on a wide variety of oilfield equipment and services. Marc project manages our turnkey packages from initial concept through to delivery and can offer high levels of support to our clients.

Colin Griffiths - Contracts / Sales Engineer

Colin has over 35 years of experience working within the oil, gas and alternative energy industries. Early experience encompassed all aspects of non-destructive testing (NDT) which gave a good grounding for future development in support of well construction and intervention activities. Having held numerous positions with Weatherford, locally and globally Colin has been responsible for raising the awareness of pressure control and flow control products to the marketplace, ensuring clients’ needs are understood and met. Colin has a broad knowledge of oil country tubular goods (OCTG) & pressure control equipment which puts him in a good position to support and develop Probe’s position in this space.

Adrian Southernwood - Sales Engineer

Adrian has 30 years’ experience in the oil and gas sector. He has previous sales, HSE and QA experience, making him a very rounded sales engineer.

Jeremy Ward - Contract Technical Engineer

Jeremy has been in the oil and gas industry his entire working life (25 years). His experience and expertise were built up through previous roles including Design Engineer, Product Engineer and Engineering Supervisor.

Service Promise

Our equipment production for the oilfield sector stretches back over 40 years. An early milestone was the purchase of our first CNC lathe in 1987 to provide us with the capacity to machine API and premium threads. Since then our plant list has expanded extensively, and we have grown in to one of the largest manufacturing supply chain partners in the East of England, with clients all over the world. We pride ourselves on offering a responsive personal service, every time you work with us.


Our large amount of raw material held on-site means that we can respond effectively to client’s urgent requirements. We believe this sets us apart from our competitors by allowing us to meet very short lead times to ensure that our client’s projects maintain momentum without quality being compromised. We understand the tight deadlines which are placed on oilfield suppliers which is why we pride ourselves on offering this fast-responsive service to minimise the pressure on our clients.


Our in-house raw material stock held is generally more than 1,000 tonnes and we can therefore meet urgent delivery times from this holding. All our stocks are subject to receiving full inspections and we have state of the art in-house facilities to perform a variety of non-destructive testing including ultrasonic examination, magnetic particle inspection, liquid penetrant inspection and Brinell hardness testing.
