This week commemorates Probe’s 45th anniversary of trading within oil, gas and energy markets. The company was founded on the 26th of April 1974 by Keith Ford.
Based in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, Probe manufactures high-quality equipment that enables service companies and providers in energy markets to optimise asset productivity and performance. Our respected team are renowned for their hands-on experience in the field and they have first-hand knowledge of what it takes to deliver projects practically and successfully. Probe’s foundations has been built on the quality of the product and the speed of the delivery, which has gained the company a very solid and loyal customer base.
In 2013 Probe was acquired by the Acteon Group and moved into a brand-new purpose-built facility in September 2015. The building houses its 18 CNC machines, as well as having the capacity for its £1M of steel which is held on site. Probe now has a total of 52 staff; nine of whom have served more than 30 years respectively and many started out as apprentices.
Probe has recently enhanced its offering by opening a second site in Great Yarmouth. This facility has enabled the fabrication, blast and paint element of the supply chain to be brought in-house, as well as providing a dedicated test facility.
The past 45 years have seen businesses in the oil, gas and energy markets adapt to be more competitive, efficient and resilient. Whilst Probe has embraced this change by engineering solutions, our core values of product quality and speed of delivery have remained, meaning that the Probe brand is still recognised as a market leader within the manufacturing and refurbishment markets. Here’s to the next 45 years.
